Wow, that's a statement

I'm not really an Atheist. I've nothing against any religion or especially Jesus, but i just don't believe in it. I've always thought christianity is ... mmh just a lie many people believe in. But when I discovered Flyleaf to me 2 months ago it really inspired me thinking about that. Why is Lacey (and of course many others) that convinced by it? I'm really confused the last few days.

Sorry if there ist anything wrong, english isn't my first language.
And don't be angry because I posted this, I just wanted to tell someone...

One of the people running this forum spent many years under that set of beliefs. Feel free to participate in any discussion like a courteous and reasonable human being, regardless of your belief system. Something else I have no use for are people who like to see just how much offensive and insulting imagery they can get away with in avatars, signatures, or the like, whether subtle or blatant. Having an intelligent debate/discussion with someone is fine, but if you truly have nothing better to do with your time than to sit on the internet and incite religious argument and belittle people who believe differently than you everywhere the subject is mentioned then you really need to reassess your life because you are a PATHETIC LOSER. I would not be surprised if you sat in front of your troll station in your parent's basement with a can of soda and a bag of cheesy poofs while slowly accumulating enough of a cholesterol level to reach that lofty status as a financial burden on our healthcare system. If this description sounds familiar then please find a new hobby. This includes not only you who are reading this, but anyone you would consider inviting onto the board to do the same. In the case of a thread that is dedicated specifically to religious debate, I'm not one to stop you from airing out your case as long as you don't look like a troll in the process. It's the threads that have no business being a debate, shouting match or the like that I'm really getting at. There are threads for arguing and if you don't see one on the topic you'd like to argue about then feel free to make one.

Here's an example. If an obviously religious person is asking for advice within that context, that person doesn't need the Jesus-hater patrol to come through and point out how stupid they are for believing it in the first place. If you are an atheist and you were seeking advice on a topic and the Jesus patrol came through and told you all you had to do was pray for salvation from your Godless ways and to seek spiritual enlightenment to answer your question... well you'd find that pretty useless and most likely rather irritating. Common courtesy people. Please use your higher brain functions before you click the submit button.

In the same way that I just said all this aimed at atheists (because that's who was causing the trouble when I got irritated enough to write this out), this whole thing can be reversed. If you are a hardcore religious nut then don't troll your belief system out in places that good common sense says not to. If you need help with common sense then re-read this post as if though I was talking to you from the start. If you are unsure about your status as a hardcore religious nut then ask yourself... do you find that an overwhelming majority (90+%) of people on this planet are going to hell because they don't think exactly like you do? If so, the test came back positive.

Thank you and goodnight.

Bravo and kudos you Mr. Caleb. Thank you so much for this.

well actually it shouldn't have bin needed because we as deism believung ppl should take no offense to what they say.

a jewish rabbi said this

"where the believer says God, the atheist says Idk.the believer knows as much about God as the atheist knows about what he doesn't know."

I put this kind of out of context but it does get the point across. we should feel offended. we should feel sorry for them.also. in a debate, when ppl revert to insulting it is because they simply have no intelegent responce.I don't normally respond to a post unless it has something in it that is worth responsing to. if it is just insults I pay no mind to it.

we should expect such behavior from those who have lower moral standards. we are all human. the only thing that makes us different is that we have a faith(regardless of what faith it is)the expects more of us.

way to take a statement about respecting other peoples beliefs because as people we should all (and i'll admit [to your favor] especially those of us who have a doctrine that tells us to care for others)to
non-religious people are subhuman and we should expect to be treated badly by them because they are all fools
put this kind of out of context but it does get the point across.

I was simply pointing out that we as believers have different standards.

I expect mark, the batist, zen etc. to use cuss words. I do not because it is against my faith. it doesn't surprize me to see them doing so. it doesn't offend me.

that would be like going to a war movie and being shocked at all the violence you see.

please keep statements in context. I said "we are all humans" but that "we as believers have different standards."

yes that is ok, and because i have the same (ha not if anyones read our arguments) beliefs i don't cuss.
but your statement about reverting to insulting is
1. incorrect
2. makes you sound all high and mighty
which i believe the bible has some verses about

and the statement about context was a jab at you not a literal statement
we may have a belief system and believe that we are right, but lording it over people as is not the right stance to take
